A Short History of Adams Harrison

In 1834 Joseph Collin rented number 16 Church Street in Saffron Walden and began practising as a Solicitor. There has been a Solicitors’ practice at this location ever since. In 1877 Joseph’s son Turner joined him as a partner. In 1895 Turner Collin changed the firm’s name to Collin and Adams when William Adams was appointed as a partner. In 1929 Turner Collin retired, Edmund Land replaced him as a partner and the firm became Adams & Land

Harrison and Co was formed in 1984 by Tom Harrison who has recently retired.

Adams Harrison was formed in 1989 when Adams and Land and Harrison and Co merged. Three further firms, Steed Marshall (Haverhill), Roger Lord (Saffron Walden) and Bates Ellison and Morris (Haverhill) were acquired in the 1990’s. In November 2008 the firm took over the practice and premises of Webb & Partners in Sawston.
